I have been seeing Dr. Stern regularly for almost 20 years, some might ask, isn’t 20 years a long time to see a chiropractor, is it working? About 40 years ago I had the misfortune to break my L5 vertebrae, yep I literally broke it! After years of seeing different doctors and physical therapy I was told I would be a chronic pain sufferer for the rest of my life. I was given a prescription for pain killers and told, “Learn to live with it”. This was not a prescription for living a full and meaningful life, so I set out to find an alternative to drugs and pain. This led me to many different alternative practices, including Thai Chi, Chiropractic, Yoga, Massage Therapy, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Reiki and any other modality that sounded like it could help. I found a chiropractor in California who did network chiropractic. After months of going weekly and feeling some relief but not pain free, one morning I woke up and something was different, I couldn’t figure out what it was at first, then I realized, my back didn’t hurt. For the first time in years, I woke up without lower back pain, I started to cry. Which of course, tweaked my back and I was in pain again. But I got up, did my stretching exercises went for a walk before starting work and my back relatively pain free. Move forward 10 years and I moved to Massachusetts, I needed to find a chiropractor that did network chiropractic and energy work. That led me to calling the few network chiropractors in the area, I eventually got to Dr. Stern. He told me he was a Network Chiropractor, but also used many different modalities, this intrigued me and I decided to try him out. I have found his adjustments are spot on, his energy is clean and clear, he can read blockages in the body better than most can read a road map. Fast-forward to today, I am still pain free and owe it to Chiropractic, Yoga and Reiki. Is it worth going to the chiropractor once a month to be pain free? Absolutely!
